2008 Del Fava Zinfandel
|
Our "Del Fava Family" label wines represent our version of 'reserve' wines - which are small lots of our hand-crafted wines from great local vineyards in the Alexander & Dry Creek Valleys.
This Zinfandel comes from the Teldeschi Vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley and is our biggest Zin yet! This 2008 Del Fava Family Zinfandel is ripe with aromas of raspberry, plum, sage, and black pepper - leading to layers of blackberry, herbs, cedar and tobacco. The result is an ‘over-the-top’ style of Zinfandel that is a spicy, peppery wine, with hints of fruit flavors - raspberry and bing cherries - which is rich with tannins with a supple, lingering finish. 95% Zin & 5% Petit Sirah.
Aged 18 months in French oak Barrels - this Zin will age gracefully for the next 6 - 8 years.
